English: At an Arab summit in Libya in 1969, shortly after the September Revolution that toppled King Idris I and brought Colonel Mu’ammar al-Qaddafi to power. This work was created in Syria and is now in the public domain there because its term of copyright has expired pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 12/2001, Syria's first ever copyright law (details). In order to be hosted on Commons, all works must be in the public domain in the United States as well as in their source country.   • Article 23 - "The work published without mention of the author or with the mention of a pseudonym shall be entitled to the copyrights for fifty years as of the date of the first legitimate publication. If the identity of the author is revealed or doubts are no longer valid as for specifying the same before such period lapses, the copyrights shall be applied as per the provisions of Article 22 of the law herein."
  • Article 24 - "Protection of audio - visual, broadcast, televised or cinematography work shall be enforceable for fifty years as of the date of producing the work."
  • Article 25 - "Photographic, fine arts or plastic arts shall be enforceable for ten years as of the date of producing such work."

This Egyptian work is currently in the public domain in Egypt because its copyright has expired pursuant to the provisions of Intellectual Property Law 82 of 2002. The 2002 law, which repealed Copyright Law 354 of 1954, was not retroactive, meaning that works which had fallen into the public domain in 2002 remain out-of-copyright in Egypt (details).

Public domain This work was first published on the Libya and is now in the public domain because its copyright protection has expired by virtue of the Copyright Protection Law, enacted 1968. The work meets one of the following criteria:
  • It is an anonymous work or pseudonymous work and 25 years have passed since the date of its publication
  • It is a work published after the death of the author and 50 have passed since the year of death of the author (or last-surviving author)
  • It is a photographic or cinematographic work that is not compositive (artistic in nature) and 5 years have elapsed since the end of the year of its publication
